Located in the South Hams, an area of outstanding natural beauty, the inn nestles in a picturesque valley where kingfishers can be seen flying up and down the creek.Throughout the centuries The Watermans Arms has had a variety of uses. It was once the haunt of the feared press gangs who used to " recruit " unsuspecting drinkers by dropping the King's shilling into their tankards. The inn has also been used as a smithy and at one time a prison although it is difficult to imagine a more delightful situation in which to be incarcerated! The present inn now has 15 comfortable on suite letting rooms is ideal for both holiday makers and business people alike. Open fires will be found at the bar, which is open all day, along with an excellent selection of real ales and a comprehensive wine list. Our chefs are passionate about using fresh locally sourced food which is delivered daily. Practically all ingredients for our breakfast are sourced from farms no more than a mile away. |
