Unlike many pubs serving excellent food, The Ship retains all the characteristics of a traditional English Inn, with a convivial and relaxing atmosphere. The large bar area features paneled walls, wooden tables and chairs and comfortable upholstered armchairs in front of an open fire. There is a choice of locally brewed real ales, and an extensive Wine List. The nautical theme includes an interesting seat made from a section of a boat retrieved from the harbour, and the pub has its own weather station. The two dining areas seat up to 60 people, and booking is essential. Comfortable and intimate, customers can enjoy a delicious meal from the mouth-watering menu of freshly prepared, traditional English dishes. Not surprisingly, fresh locally-caught fish features heavily and is the house specialty. The menu could include local Sea Bass, Plaice, Mackerel, Crab and Lobster, either plain-grilled or with a delicious sauce, and the fresh Beer-battered Cod is second to none. A popular pub with both locals and visitors, The Ship Inn provides the perfect atmosphere for an evening out. We are featured in the Les Routiers Pub & Inn Guides – a recognition of our individuality, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, good quality and value for money. |
