Email this pub The Butchers Arms dates back to the 13th Century with original stone walling and real open fireplaces. Over the years it has had many uses, but primarily it was used as a cider house which dispensed cider to locals and travelers through its tiny windows, which are now inside windows!
The Butchers Arms is a reputable restaurant venue in the Forest of Dean and dinner reservations are essential, especially at the weekends.

The village of Clearwell itself is a sleepy tranquil village situated approximately 2 miles from Coleford market town. Clearwell Castle is host to many society weddings and is located just a 2 minute walk from the Butchers Arms.

Within the local area are many tourist attrcations such as Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Railway, Clearwell Caves, Fly Fishing, Horseriding, Forest Walks, Camping, Symonds Yat and the Wye Valley plus many more.

You may reach the Forest of Dean easily from the M4 towards South Wales and the M5 South to the M50 towards Monmouth.

Should you require additional information regarding the Butchers Arms or accommodation then do not hesitate to contact us on 01594 834313.
