The curious name derives from the Oddfellows Society (a precursor of the trade union movement) that used to meet in the bar in the 1860s.Today the Oddfellows has a ground floor bar, and a restaurant on the second floor serving a range of quality food. Recently under new management the name may not have changed but the menu, food & style has. With a wide range of both a la carte & set menus the new Oddfellows Restaurant offers a wide range of dishes to suit everybody's taste buds. The style ranges from modern bistro cuisine to the more traditional home cooked dishes, all of which are prepared daily on the premises. To compliment your chosen dish we have an extensive and reasonably priced wine list, along with a selection of real ales and bottled beers. Booking is not essential, but recommended to avoid disappointment. Special events & functions Theme nights are on throughout the year - please ask for details. The restaurant is available to book for parties and private functions. |
