 Email this pub The Knockerdown Inn at Ashbourne dates from the 17th Century and is set in it's own grounds with stunning views over Carsington Water.
This public house and restaurant has been under the same ownership since 1996 and has won many awards during this time, these awards are on display in the restaurant.
This friendly pub offers a wide range of attractions popular with locals and visitors alike, and is open all day everyday through the summer and for lunch and evenings for the rest of the year. It is open all day every weekend all year.
Comfortably furnished and well decorated lounge areas lead on to the award winning restaurant with Smoke Free Zone Award. The menu is extensive and caters for all tastes with many vegetarian dishes and a separate Hillbilly Young Diners Menu.
The award winning gardens are a beautiful setting for the children's adventure playground with separate under fives area. The grounds are home to a variety of farm animals and exotics including donkeys and Black African Ostriches.
The pub has a large car park accessible for coaches with an overflow parking area.
Caravanning and camping is availailable from Easter until September (Weather permitting).
A highlight of any visit to the Ashbourne area.
