It is first listed on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834. One of the first publicans, listed in the census of 1861 was David Collins who was also an iron puddler. On the old A34 route in the centre of Newtown, it is well situated and easy to locate. The building has a good sized car park to the side and a large beer garden. Walking into this traditional style pub brings you into a warm and very friendly atmosphere where you immediately feel amongst friends. There is a great food selection here which complements an award winning, well kept selection of Bank's Beers and Ales.Proud winners of C.A.M.R.A. Pub of the Year 2005, 2006 and 2007. This sets an excellent environment for enjoying a relaxing and entertaining time with friends.
