Martyn and Jackie work hard to ensure that the pub maintains a high standard of cleanliness and comfort together with a great atmosphere. Families are welcome both day and night.We are located close to the historic city centre of Worcester on the Droitwich Road.. You will find good food and drink available all day at reasonable prices. Why not bring the family for a light lunch? With summer fast approaching the garden will once again be in use. We plan to provide a fenced childrens play area. Coach parties are welcome. August 2010 Proposed demolition of the Deer’s Leap Droitwich Road. There has been a pub on this site for some 300 years.The Deer’s Leap is a valuable community pub. It is well used by the local community together with a number of disabled groups including Worcester Deaf Association and Top Barn training. There is a large skittle alley that is well used by 4 teams. With the closure of so many pubs over the recent months there is now a shortage of skittle alleys and the sport is in danger of dying out. Skittles has been, and still is, played by both men and women of all ages and backgrounds. The pub is now a noted venue for live music supporting young local musicians. We have also held many fund raising events to help local people. Our doors are open to all 7 days a week.Both young, old, able and disabled people use this pub on a regular basis. We care about our community and the impact that this development would have upon it. You are all now aware of the proposal to build a medical centre on the site of The Deer’s Leap. There are plans for 41 elevated parking spaces, mini operating theatres and 24 hour Pharmacy. Although we accept there is a need for such facilities we do not believe this to be the correct site. The proposed building is to cover the entire site. It will be 3 storeys high. We are concerned that the proposed building will bring traffic chaos to the area with Crown Street and Bromsgrove Street being the most affected. The impact on the local community will be immense. Access and parking will become difficult if not impossible and the proposed 24 hour pharmacy means that there will be traffic in these small back streets 24 hours a day. 24 hour lighting will also be in operation.Please sign our petition or send supporting letters.Help to save YOUR DEER’S LEAP.
