Email this pub John and Mary Rickard have managed this charming old Inn for more than 25 years and John has, quite rightly, been awarded all sorts of certificates for his skill and dedication in serving the public. The Inn is a St Austell Brewery pub and the true mark of a top notch landlord is demonstrated by the way John keeps his cellar. I would state that no finer pint of real ale can be found anywhere in Cornwall. Mary's food is a local byword, freshly cooked, beautifully presented and extremely good value for money. Her steak and kidney pie with all the trimmings at less than �4.00 is remarkable. For the REALLY hungry, a monster Mixed Grill for less than a Tenner is unbeatable. The Inn has a VAST car park and very pleasant undercover outdoor area for smokers with really cosy infra red heaters to keep the chill out. The Blue Anchor has it all, really. A warm Cornish welcome, squeaky clean, great food and the best beer in the county.
