 Email this pub Set in the suburb of Horfield, near Bristol, on the Gloucester Road you will find The Anchor. Surrounded by shops, banks and businesses, this is a popular starting venue at weekends but we also attract many customers throughout the week.
Our sport, entertainment and cheap drinks often keep people here for the whole evening. This distinctive old building is hard to miss, decorated a bright blue! Acting in the past as some sort of naval hostel, we have had several name changes although originally being called the Anchor. Inside is open plan with high ceilings, bright coloured walls and plenty of pillars and supports to enable a secluded spot to be found for a private conversation. Weekday customers drop in from the local shops and businesses for a meal or drink with colleagues. At weekends and evenings there is a younger clientele, including a good proportion of students who enjoy the entertainment on offer.
This is the best Sports bar in the area with two big screens and numerous other TVs to allow the major matches to be seen from anywhere in the pub. Don't take too long to come and give this fun, lively venue a try. The friendly crew look forward to seeing you soon.
