Email this pub The Alhampton Inn near Shepton Mallet is a real honest traditional country pub with cosy open fires. Visiting here is like stepping back in time to a different era. Situated on the Moors it has stunning picturesque scenery, so enjoy a cold glass of "cider champagne " in the beer garden.
They offer a great welcome and excellent food making booking advisable too avoid disappointment. The food is fabulous and varied, everything is homecooked using the finest ingredients which are locally sourced. You can't beat the fresh fish straight from the quay to the table or pick something off the Chef's Specials Board. They also do a lovely Sunday roast which is excellent value for �6.25.
If you enjoy the cider champagne too much you can always stay over in the 5/6 berth self contained static caravan situated at the rear of the pub (�200 per week or shorter stays negotiable). There is a Touring caravan park with pickup points, camping area with shower room and toilets open 24 hours and 2 small onsite caravans available for rent. Please apply for prices.
The Inn is situated 5 mins from the Royal Bath & West Show Ground and 10 mins from the Glastonbury Festival Ground. Also Castle Cary train station is 5 mins down the road.
