The pub was first licenced in the early 1890s as a cider house as their village pub was at the bottom of the road called the HALF MOON.This closed in the late 1950s.
It was fully licenced in the about 1908 and has been trading ever since.It tock on a new name in the 1950 which was the SALAMANDER after a race horse that died outside the pub after winning the point to point race held in the village back then.The name then changed to the MUDDLED MAN in 1978.
